Volkswagen has refused to come to the bargaining table in violation of federal law, by refusing to engage in collective bargaining after a successful election, Volkswagen is not only doing a disservice to its employees but now is thumbing its nose at the federal government as well.

To the overall grand plan of the UAW it’s probably not monumental, but to those workers, it’s a big deal.

Volkswagen's policy in Chattanooga was a gesture and our local union has engaged accordingly, at the end of the day, the policy can not be a substitute for meaningful employee representation and co-determination with management.

We don't know exactly what the pathway to exclusive representation or collective bargaining is, certainly that is the end goal.
