We are way behind in testing, there'll be plenty of time to do a retrospective. We need to increase testing as quickly as possible and get the volume as high as possible. The more people you test, the more people you can isolate.

How selfless is that ? How giving is that ?

This is no time to act stupidly.

We make a bad move, it's going to set us back.

That is an intelligent division of labor - let each layer of government do what it does best.

It's in some ways an outrageous goal, but this is New York, and we're used to outrageous.

We needed help, and they were there, that is an undeniable fact.

How can that be ? .

How many times do you want me to say 'thank you,' but I'm saying 'thank you' for doing your job, this was your role as president.

Is there any funding so I can do these things that you want us to do? No. That is passing the buck without passing the bucks.

The good news is it means we can control the virus. We can control the spread, and we did not know for sure that we could do that.

That is still continuing at a really, really tragic rate.

One month is a long time.

The more testing, the more opening of the economy.

It says the federal government does not have absolute power, it says the exact opposite of what the president said. It says that would be a king.

There has been a laxness in social distancing, especially during this past weekend, that is just wholly unacceptable.

I think that's a very real possibility.

It's very simple : A person comes into the ICU unit. They need the ventilator, or they die. It's that basic proposition.

Obviously, nobody would say that this was the best way to do it.

It was coming here, we have been behind it from Day One since it got here. And we've been playing catch-up. You don't win playing catch-up. We have to get ahead of it.

I am not engaging the president in politics, my only goal is to engage the president in partnership.
