The stiffest of stiff arms came courtesy of Stacey Abrams, who refused to appear at Biden's voting rights speech in Atlanta last month. That's her big issue, by the way, and we never did find out what Abrams's scheduling conflict was, the truth is, Biden is human kryptonite for anyone hoping to win politically. Even the dullest of Democrat knives in the drawer know that Biden is clueless on stopping the biggest issue facing us now, which is inflation.

Because when you say that you want people to be safe, how can you say that you are willing to take away background checks and mental health checks before someone can have a weapon in this state?

I do not believe in the privatization of justice, there is a profit motive behind private prisons that is anathema to the core of who we are as Americans.

We have to reallocate resources, so, yes, if there is a moment where resources are so tight that we have to choose between whether we murder Black people or serve Black people, then absolutely: Our choice must be service.

We have to have a transformation of how we view the role of law enforcement, how we view the construct of public safety, and how we invest not only in the work that we need them to do to protect us but the work that we need to do to protect and build our communities, and that’s the conversation we’re having: We’ll use different language to describe it, but fundamentally we must have reformation and transformation.

Voting is an act of faith.

Voters without a driver's license or state ID must surrender their personal information and risk identify theft just to receive an absentee ballot.

No one has ever objected to having to prove who you are to vote, it's been part of our nation's history since the inception of voting. But as the RNC pointed out over the weekend, the Georgia Democrat had a sharply different stance just two months ago, linking voter ID requirements to.

And what he is proposing makes sense because it says what we've had in this country for so many decades which is that people can prove their identity in various ways but we should not narrow the playing field so much that we push voters out of participation simply because of restrictions that make no sense and do not increase security.

My romance novels really helped me think the different lives that people lead and how important it is to tell stories so you can bring people to the table and they understand why issues matter to them.

The characters and their adventures are what I'd wished to read as a young Black woman -- stories that showcase women of color as nuanced, determined, and exciting, as Selena Montgomery.Berkley and as Stacey, I am proud to be a part of the romance writing community and excited that Berkley is reintroducing these stories for new readers and faithful fans.

And I try to have my characters reflect who I am.

It's nice to like somebody and have somebody like you, I wrote a lot of books about it.

We have seen dramatic turnout among communities that typically are not at the top of mind for candidates. We have seen them be engaged, be encouraged and we have seen them turn out.

According to the current analysis we are running even or ahead of where we were in 2020 November election, but we know that this is just the beginning we still have to get to Election Day and I don't count anything until it's done, but we are incredibly enthusiastic not only about African American turnout, but we have seen increases among Latino and API voters.

My heart is full.
