We have to acknowledge that the older generations have failed. All political movements in their present form have failed, but homo sapiens have not yet failed. Yes, we are failing, but there is still time to turn everything around. We can still fix this.

Me speaking to the U.N. is not going to change the situation but if that can help to create awareness ... then I think that together we can try to ... make a change.

If we are to stay below 1.5 degrees of temperature rise, then science says that Germany can probably not continue to burn coal. I mean, another 20 years, that is not my opinion or what I think, that's what science says.

I'm grateful to get the opportunity to get my message out to a broad new audience in a new way, i think it's great that The 1975 is so strongly engaged in the climate crisis. We quickly need to get people in all branches of society to get involved.

Some people have chosen not to come here today, some have chosen not to listen to us and that is fine, we are after all just children, you don't have to listen to us. But you do have to listen to the scientists, that is all we ask.

The tricky thing is that its on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. And there are no trains going there, and since I dont fly, because of the enormous climate impact of aviation, its going to be a challenge. I havent quite figured that out yet.

Thank you for standing up for the climate and speaking the truth. It means a lot, god bless you, continue to work, continue. Go along, go ahead.
