What you are implying in those questions is that you’re going to be able to make some sort of diagnosis and maybe alter or amend the curriculum of the child, what is the implication of that question ? If you are implying that a vaginal birth child is going to be smarter or more proactive in class than a C-section child, that is not Aiken Elementary.

I deliver babies for a living. I have certainly delivered more than 150 children in my lifetime, yet I'm always puzzled when I hear that one of those children I delivered has autism.

There's no doubt having an autistic child represents tremendous challenges for both the children and their parents, but in my experience, it has brought me closer to my family and has given me an appreciation for how the human brain develops and the uniqueness of each child it afflicts.

There are still so many unanswered questions about what causes autism and other developmental disorders on the spectrum. So it is vital that we continue to research and educate ourselves in the hopes that we may begin to understand the challenges that these children and their families continue to face with each passing day.

Certain medications and over-the-counter medications are not recommended for expectant moms, and morning sickness is usually a sign of a viable pregnancy, but dealing with nausea morning, noon and night could be a nightmare.

What happens is the rectis muscles that are right in front of the belly separate, and they end up with this separation afterward, almost like a hernia-type effect.

I think it is quite clear that on the medical level… that this could endanger the newborn as well as the mother, if you look statistically, for example, at home births versus births that are done under clinical supervision, there’s a difference in outcomes, and if you’re not ready for an acute emergency during delivery [that] is when a baby can get damaged or a mother could get hurt.
