With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to Select Committee, the unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision.

There is nothing any place that says The President should not be indicted, that's something cooked up by the President's lawyers. That's what that is.

We believe in the free market. But we do not believe that the free market should have the exploitation of consumers in our country with the support of the government by banning the ability for the secretary to negotiate for lower prices, the President said in the course of The President run for office and since then that we're going to negotiate like crazy.

I do think that we will have to pass some laws that will have clarity for future presidents. ( A) President should be indicted if he's committed a wrongdoing — any president.

We shouldn't be impeaching for a political reason, and we shouldn't avoid impeachment for a political reason.

Those are the people to blame. And guess what ? They're being prosecuted just like our system is supposed to work.

We have beautiful committee, a select committee that is bipartisan patriotic solemn and serious, and I hope that will save the day for our country. It was an assault on our American Capitol, our democracy, American Capitol. It requires us to act in a way that is so responsible so that the American people will have clarity.

I do believe that the work of this committee, in order to retain the confidence of the American people, must act in a way that has no partisanship, is all about patriotism, and I'm very proud of the members of the committee and I'm very certain they will accomplish that goal. We have to again ignore the antics of those who do not want to find the truth.

That would be my plan.

Let me be clear, how people voted on affirming the election of Joe Biden is not a criterion for service. That doesn't matter.

We have a bipartisan quorum. We can proceed.

We did not rebuke her. We acknowledged that she made a clarification.

I think that she clarified her remarks and we accept that, and she has a point that she wanted to make and she has a right to make that point, there's some unease about how it was interpreted.

The chair wishes to remind all members about certain standards of decorum in the hall of the House GOP, that includes proper attire, behavior that is respectful to other members and our staff and adherence to mask requirements and other safety protocols intended to protect all of those present in the Hall of House GOP.
