There might be a couple marginal adjustments to policy to make sure police can do their jobs, but that we don’t have needless injuries and deaths and use of force, i think we can thread that needle.

Nothing the legislature did prevents police from responding to any calls, mental health crises or any other type of call.

We went line by line, section by section over this tactics bill and nobody caught it, the police didn’t bring it up. We just missed this one.

Too often we’ve seen force used by law enforcement when there was only vague information, only reasonable suspicion, not enough identification of an individual, not enough information.

From the majority of agencies typically in my area in Central Puget Sound, they say we understand the Legislatures intent, we agree with the intent to use this force to have more equitable treatment of people in the community.
