We were in a financial crisis, if you will, and that we had to move in a certain direction.

If I'd listened to that advice, I'd have missed spending my life with my best friend.

My hope, again, is that this happens very expeditiously, hopefully tomorrow, we've seen the vaccines go out. We've seen the press reports of hospitals waiting to vaccinate health care workers and those most vulnerable.

I can promise you that when the data are available, FDA will review them, using its established rigorous and deliberative scientific process, we all understand that only by engaging in an open review process and relying on good science and sound data, can the public, and you as providers, have confidence in the integrity of our decisions.

I totally support the CDC and the information that they're putting out with respect to this pandemic.

What I'll say is that we have data in the White House task force. Those data show us that this is a serious problem. People need to take it seriously.

I think in terms of that specific instance at the White House, it's important for everyone to remember that it's a different set of circumstances. People are tested regularly. The President is tested regularly.

We'll have to see how this unfolds in Florida and around the country.

We will not cut corners in our decision making.

I think we can all agree upon the fact that we've learned a lot of lessons from the remdesivir situation.

This is an important clinical advance that showed a statistically significant reduction in time to recovery for patients with Covid-19 and is the first authorized therapy for Covid-19.

This is not an at-home test. This still has to be performed with a provider, but it does provide great advantages moving forward and expands the opportunities for testing, it highlights the great innovation that we've seen around the country in response to the outbreak.

What they told us is they believe they could scale up by the end of next week ... for the capacity for 4 million additional tests that could be shipped.
