Even then I hoped that Ambassador Sondland's strategy was exclusively Ambassador Sondland own and would not be considered by leaders in the administration and Congress, who understand the importance of Ukraine to our national security.

The security situation remains tenuous and it is the position of the US government, there is no disagreement, that the security of our staff, the safety of our staff, the security of our personnel is our highest priority, we are looking at every option available to us to provide assistance, technical expertise to the region, but the security situation is a significant impediment.
