I don't like the stigma attached to' screen time,' or the way it is coded. It makes us talk about the things our kids love as if they are drugs. They are not drugs, even if they sometimes have some things wrong with them.

Ask yourself if they are using screens in a way that allows them to develop autonomy, and a moral and ethical consciousness.

Personally, I don't know how I feel about capitalism. But I do know that while it is here we have to raise kids who are capable of ethical reasoning about it, trying to make these videos will build critical media literacy skills, and a chance to understand what it takes to make a successful one.

There is a whole lot that can be learned that is positive from making videos, regardless of the content.

It's not that I am giving my kid candy because he achieved success. It's that the candy is a symbol that he succeeded.

It is an economic and civic necessity to help kids online, we teach them manners for playground life, and we should be teaching them manners for online life, too.

We know abstinence sex education doesn't work and creates unhealthy sexual relationships. So why are we taking a similar approach with screen time ?
