In Texas, you just learn just be nice to people and respect them, and respect where they're coming from. And understand people have different backgrounds and opinions, and there's nothing you could do about it. And that's what I've realized to shape, I guess, who I am.

I was a pitcher, and my dad played in college. The hardest day of my life was telling him I was going to quit to focus more on golf. But with golf, I felt like the game can't be perfected, and that motivated me.

To be able to have winning in your blood growing up, whether it was pounding my little brother or trying to beat my dad in something, or just competing on teams with my friends, it was nonstop.

I dont like starting where I did this playoffs, and I dont plan on ever starting this far down again, last year I said that, and then I did. But things are improving. Today was a good day.

I just got real quick( with those bad swings), i know they're still in the bag right now, so I've got a little bit of scar tissue left.

This golf course( has some) really small fairways and so it will be a really good test of where I'm at right now.

Two chip-ins certainly helped, i felt like I stole a couple early in the round to be under par, and then just kind of played the shots that needed to be played.

Certainly hasn't, i haven't been in contention on a Sunday since the (British) Open last year. If I'm able to (be in contention on Sunday), at that point it will just be more of trying to win a golf tournament.

Anything under par on this course is great, what Brooks and Danny did is out of this world. They must have hit a lot of fairways.

Other than one three-putt it was kind of a bogey-free type round, putting Jordan Spieth in position on those approach shots to make par at worse, swing is getting there, putting stroke feels really good, it's progressing day to day.

To birdie the last two holes is really big for me right now as I'm looking to gain confidence under pressure and test some of the stuff I've been working on, in this matchplay format it feels like you're battling to win a golf tournament on a Saturday or Sunday. So it was really cool to hit some clutch shots and pull off the tie.

Your career is not defined by a couple of bad years and I could have really poor years the rest of my career and still have a pretty fantastic career, if I think about it that way it it certainly makes me happier, frees me up a bit. I'm in a good place now.

I remember in 2015-16 the word( s)' big three' being mentioned so many times in almost every interview and not one of us three has been talked about in the last couple of years.

Some day I'll explain what got off and it will be easier to understand, i'm embracing the challenge to get back where I need to be. I practised hard but I practiced hard the wrong way. Now I've got to reverse that.

I wouldn't say it was big or necessary or anything, very positive about making progress from how I got pretty off earlier this year so it's good to see a good score but still a long way to go.

Putter feels great, i'm seeing my lines better and it's a matter of time I think before it gets to the level I've been at before.
