I've been fascinated by the world ever since I read 'Kitchen Confidential' by Anthony Bourdain. I've watched 'Top Chef' and watched interviews with chefs on 'Charlie Rose'... I thought they're really intriguing characters, and they really encapsulate that tension between vision and commerce, art and commerce.

I don't feel the pressure except to the audience that's seeing what I'm making and I feel that pressure every time, and I think -- much like the chefs I learned from when I was training to play that role -- there's a certain stripe of personality that are attracted to telling stories, which is you want to do something, but the experience isn't complete until the people that eat the meal/watch the show/watch the movie, reacts to it.

He has my vote for sure, i think he was able to discover and explore dimensions of the character over the course of many, many films, which is a bit of its own category. But I have to say that if you look at, especially how it began and how it ended in his performances between the first one and' Endgame,' there was a really thoughtful arc to the character, both in his performance and how all the filmmakers contributed to that character.

Sure we would love to do a sequel. We've been talking about it for months, when a movie is this big of a production everybody kinda waits to see how the audiences receive it. I've hit a point where my big luxury is getting to work on the things I want to work on. That's my hobby. It's being able to do a movie like 'Chef,' where you don't get paid, where you get paid scale, but you get to do exactly the movie you want to do. I like happy endings in movies. I think life has a happy ending. When it's all said and done, it's all something worthwhile, and I want my movies to reflect that. There are enough things to be sad about. When you pop in a movie, let the message be one that's one of hope.

Get the shading right, the lighting right, and there are things you can do to make the CGI look more real. People end up going crazy and give themselves a little too much freedom in how they use CGI, and if you overuse it, it draws attention to itself.
