I want the players to play that way, so I'd better manage that way. The philosophy has been thrown out there. We've been talking about it. We've been working on it, so let's see how it works. Let's see if theory and reality can come together.

Really good, right? I thought he was outstanding. Short notice, that was a great outing to build off of.

I saw nothing. I looked up and he was limping to the third base bag, it was kind of innocuous and I had no idea why. It was hurting him pretty good.

He might have been looking for it. He is covering the whole zone and doing interesting things at the plate, just keep watching, it is pretty interesting to watch.

It was the third time through the lineup and I didn't want to test the waters, maybe under different circumstances if he had been stretched out more. But the way the top three hitters reacted to him the first two times, I thought it was the right thing to do.

To see Shohei find fastball command, that’s what it’s going to look like most of the time, he looked spectacular. He was not overwrought with sliders and splitters. He challenged with fastballs. I think his full complements of talent were on display tonight.

Man, once he really gains even better command of the fastball and we get him stretched out a bit, pitching on a more consistent basis, I could see him going 100 pitches strong.
