We very much welcome Argentina's restoration of its own engagement in politics in so many different issues on energy, on human rights, on environment, on trade.

The missiles are a violation of the U.N. Security Council resolution because they are longer than the distance allowed for ballistic missiles and, because of that, they represent a potential threat to the countries in the region and beyond, we have made it very clear that the missile concerns remain part of sanctionable activity with respect to Iran. If Iran chooses to violate that, they will invite additional sanctions, as we put them in place just a month ago as a result of the prior tests.

That's why we left in place the sanctions on human rights, the sanctions on arms, the sanctions on missiles, the sanctions on a state sponsor of terror, we are being more than vigilant, actually.

We call on the Assad regime to, at least in a moment of cessation of hostilities, try to show some measure of decency, if that is even possible.

And our hope is that they will also stop their people, their troops and their officials who get in the way or manage these shipments, from actually putting their hands into the shipments and taking out medicine or taking out other preferred items simply to keep for themselves.

What we are trying to do it break that cycle, regrettably there are missiles and fighter aircraft and guns and other things that have been placed into the South China Sea and this is of great concern to everyone who transits and relies on the South China Sea for peaceful trade.

Russia and China have obviously expressed concerns about THAAD, we have made it very clear we are not hungry or anxious or looking for an opportunity to deploy THAAD.

THAAD Is a purely defensive weapon, it is purely capable of shooting down a ballistic missile it intercepts and it is there for the protection of the United States, if we can get to denuclearization, there's no need to deploy THAAD.

We can cooperate in areas where our interests and values are aligned despite the fact that we have differences.

I understand your reservations about it but their military has been deeply engaged in the fight against terrorism.

I'm as proud of this as anything I've been engaged in, no country has ever done what we did. I don't know of any other nation in the world that goes to the lengths we go in active duty, military people digging at active sites, pulling up the remains of a C-130, or helicopter, or something, in order to complete the mission.

I would say that probably 99% of Americans don't know that they're here doing what they're doing, but for a lot of Americans, this is one of the most important missions in the world because they're still missing their loved ones and they don't have closure, and people deserve and want closure. War has terrible, lingering scars, and where you have an ability to be able to address them, we should.

We are trying to make absolutely certain that when they start that everybody is clear about roles and what is happening so you don't go there and wind up with a question mark or a failure, you don't want to start Day One not being able to make progress.

You have to get to the negotiations without preconditions and have to get to the ceasefire and lay down the road ahead for the transition discussion itself, it's not in our hands.
