I'm disappointed to have to withdraw from the Finals, it has been a great event in Shenzhen, and it's the biggest WTA event of the year. This is not how I wanted to end this tournament or my season.

It's not ideal, this is the second time I had to withdraw from the finals. I mean, the last time I at least played, so a retirement instead of a withdrawal.

Surprisingly, I think this year is better than last year, even though I cried way more this year than I did last year, i also think that's a lesson that I learned. It's just like you have the opportunity to change the things that are happening to you, even though it might not seem like it at the moment. I definitely think that this year was somehow better.

Every day, he has something new to say, like, he wins and then he's, like, 'Because of you guys I have the energy', the sarcasm is beautiful.

For me, I think this was the most focused I've been since Australia, so, sorry for playing you with this type of mentality.

I really don't know what's going on with my leg right now, it sucks, especially since I didn't want to get injured this close to the Open, and now I'm kind of worried a little bit.

I thought I did pretty well, i feel like I knew going into the match that she was going to play really well. Like, we have such long matches every time we play, so I wasn't expecting anything different this time around.

I thought I played really well despite the fact that we only played one set, i'm just happy that it was my first match in a while and I was able to get in the groove of things quickly.

People have been telling me that if I get to the semis I stay at number one so I wanted to do that, i wanted to do that and was thinking about it while I was playing, which wasn't a good thing. I play my best when I'm calm and today I wasn't, so that's the biggest thing I can learn.

I think I played well today. But I knew that I had to because I've played her twice before already and it was on hard court and then I didn't know what to expect today so I tried to stay as focused as I could, i'm in a really good place right now. I feel like I'm having fun playing tennis again which is always a good thing and I always play well if I have that mentality.

This match was on my racket because she (Sorribes Tormo) doesn't really have the game. She wasn't going for winners and I felt either the point was ended by me making an unforced error, or me making a winner, i feel like in the first set, I got a bit lucky there. In the second set I got a little bit unfocused and then in the third set I went zombie mode and then just thought of everything that I had to do to win.

I'm really sorry I'm not able to compete for the semis today, i unfortunately got injured yesterday and I was waiting till today to see if I could get better.

I told myself I didn't want to have any regrets here, i was stressed out when I went down 1-5... but this (comeback) was pretty good because I don't play really well on clay.

If there is one positive thing I can say about myself, it's that I learn quickly, so, for me it has been fun because I like to apply what I did wrong in the past, and I think that is what I was able to do today.

Every other court or( surface), I have more experience than I have on clay because honestly, every time I come here I get injured, i'm hoping that won't happen this year.

I didn't play that well, but honestly, I think at a time like this with that scoreline, I would usually feel very depressed and sad.

I feel like there is no anonymity, that was something that I used to my advantage maybe when I was like 18, 19. But I think now there is way too many videos and too many people have watched my matches.

This is something that I have been working on a lot, which is trying to get deeper in tournaments more consistently. I think I have been able to do that, but for me right now I just try to keep looking forward. So I'm not really satisfied — I am happy that I'm here, but at the same time I want to keep going. There are more matches to win.
