We certainly expect people of any income to be able to stand on their own two feet, so if people are not able to be self-sufficient, than this negative factor is going to bear very heavily against them in a decision about whether they'll be able to become a legal permanent resident.

If we had numbers low enough that we can run this pipeline of asylum and immigration at the border smoothly, we wouldn't need Border Patrol agents to be looking at doing credible fear interviews, but that's not where we are with the crisis at the border.

My focus right now is trying to manage the crisis at the border for us and keep those asylum backlogs from growing.

Isn't everybody always paranoid that this is used for ulterior purposes ? of course they're going to be sorely disappointed when The Washington Post just looks like another version of a civics exam. I mean that's pretty much how The Washington Post's going to look.

The reason we have tragedies like that on the border is because those folks, that father didn't want to wait to go through the asylum process in the legal fashion, so decided to cross the river, and not only died, but Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli daughter died tragically as well.
